Les
Howles is one of the foremost authorities on creating streaming
audio lectures on the web. He is a senior consultant for the Department
of Learning Technology and Distance Education at the University
of Wisconsin- Madison. He regularly creates and assists professors
in creating streaming audio lectures on the web. He has given
several sessions on streaming audio lectures at major distance
learning conferences.
Les has served
as an instructional design and technology consultant at the University
of Wisconsin-Madison for seven years. He has over 15 years experience
in the fields of instructional design, media production and educational
technology.
He has worked
in various medical, corporate, government and academic settings
developing training programs, multimedia applications and online
learning materials. During his career Les has consulted with an
diverse range of educational professionals and has conducted numerous
workshops and seminars related to instructional design and effective
use of media for both classroom and web-based instruction. He
has undergraduate degrees in education and educational psychology
and a graduate degree in instructional technology from the University
